Vincent Chew

Vincent Chew, AHO Youth Outreach Advisor – Vincent, age 20, brings many years of experience with homelessness, drugs, gangs and violence in Marin County and New
York to the AHO board. In 2008 Vince received the prestigious State
Community Leadership Bertha Wolf Rosenthal Award and a $5,500 Stipend
from the Liberty Hill Foundation over 500 other nominations statewide. Vince is currently employed by AHO, living in an apartment with peers and working toward his educational goals at College of Marin taking 21 units for a career in nursing. He
was selected as an intern for the Kaiser Permanente Summer Internship
program and volunteers as an intern for the Marin Education Fund. Vince
engages youth and adults alike, as an advocate and spokesperson of his
experience on the CA Research Bureau’s panels on youth homelessness in Sacramento, CA..Vince
does alcohol policy work and civil engagement as a Youth Commissioner
for Youth Leadership Institute (YLI). His other community work includes
Youth Court and the ACLU along with 2 years on Marin County School’s
Peer Summit committee and speaker for Marin Parent University. In
addition to a career in nursing Vince aspires to a future in politics as
a member of the Board of Supervisors of Marin County. The Marin Independent Journal featured Vince and his contribution to the community on the front page on July 2008
